Mission of the Month: Operation Give a Hug

The following information is from the site: Operation Give a Hug

Providing military children a way to hug their deployed parents until they can do it for real:

At any one time, more than 250,000 children have at least one parent deployed overseas in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Having a parent deployed to a war zone for an uncertain amount of time is among the most stressful events a child can experience.
Operation Give a Hug is a non-profit, all-volunteer program established in 2004 to help comfort military children by giving them special dolls, often referred to by children as their daddy or mommy doll. Read Maddie's story to learn about the important role this doll played in her young life. Each doll provides a place to put the photo of the deployed parent and gives a child a tangible way of relating to that parent.

The goal of Operation Give a Hug is to give dolls to military children throughout the world who are missing Mom or Dad during the long deployments. Because this is an all-volunteer program, ALL donations go directly to providing dolls for children.
You can help us provide this comfort to the little ones left behind. For a donation of just $6 you can provide a military child with a doll.

Dolls in the ACU fabric are provided through a partnership with Department of the Army.
Army FRGs: To request dolls, please complete the Department of the Army request form.

Praying for Our Elected Officials-Mayor Otis Johnson

Mayor Otis S. Johnson
This week please pray for the Honorable Otis S. Johnson and our City Councilmen.  Locate yours and pray for them by name more effectively.  I pray that as Mayor Johnson and our councilmen lead and represent the city of Savannah that God, our Father, will place His hand of strength, wisdom, power, and divine intervention upon them.  I pray that He will lead them in every decision that is to be made and every law to be written.  My our Lord and Savior protect them from the corruption too often found in politics, government, and positions of power.  May He grant them character, integrity, and astounding leadership.  I pray that God's sovereign will be done regardless of the actions of these elected officials and remember that they have been chosen to serve the people of Savannah.  May God provide them with good health as well as their families.  I also ask for protection over them and as they serve in the public eye.  Amen.
May God bless you and May God bless America.
